Ramsey Living Room
Contemporary living room project, a personal project that is still on going that provides an experimental canvas to explore personal style.
The Ramsey Living Room is a personal project set within my own home, designed as a way to explore and express my evolving interior style while gaining hands-on experience with real-world renovations.
It’s also been a great opportunity to collaborate with a range of professionals, including electricians, plasterers, panelling specialists, and flooring technicians.
The design embraces a clean and minimal aesthetic, softened by organic textures inspired by the surrounding Fenland environment. The space aims to create a calming and relaxed atmosphere for everyday living.
One of the most transformative features is the Coaldrop Grey panelling, which wraps around the room and brings a sense of warmth and intimacy. It subtly "hugs" the user and adds architectural depth to the space. Another key feature in development is a floor-to-ceiling TV unit divider, designed to house a rotating TV that can be viewed from both the living and dining areas—a functional and striking design element.
The inset carpet rug is another unique detail. Unlike a standard rug, it sits flush with the flooring, offering a tactile moment of comfort and grounding that helps to define the living zone.
Finally, a highlight detail is the letter shelf embedded within the panelling. It acts as a curated display ledge for personal objects or decor pieces, adding a layer of character and individuality to the overall design.
